About Me
Over the past 10 years, I've immersed myself in the world of performance, showcasing my talents in acting, singing, and dancing across various platforms. From collegiate to community and professional stages in both the Denver-Metro and Southern California regions, I've left my mark.
Notably, I've had the privilege of performing with Phamaly Theatre Company, renowned as the longest-standing disability-affirmative theatre in the U.S. Our production of The Spitfire Grill even toured to the Queens Theatre (NY) in 2022. Additionally, I've graced the stage with Vintage Theatre in Aurora, CO and Stagedoor Theatre in Conifer, CO.
Outside of the spotlight, I'm deeply engaged in disability education and applied behavior analysis. Holding titles such as Certified Trauma Support Specialist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Board Certified Advocate in Special Education, I primarily work as a caregiver and therapist for autistic children and their families. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practices. For more information, visit Exceptional Advocacy Colorado.
Reviews
“This was a challenging production to pull off, but the result is a top-notch entertainment with supreme direction and fantastic actors putting themselves on ‘the line.’” - Eric Fitzgerald, OnStage Colorado
“The ensemble’s dedication and talent were evident throughout the performance. Each member brought their unique touch to the crowded streets of Fleet Street, creating a vibrant, sinister backdrop for the main action. Their tight harmonies and unified presence added depth and texture to the production, enhancing the overall experience.” - Chris Arneson, Broadway World Denver
“Especially noteworthy is Kendrick as Lizzy Chapman, an understudy with only a few days to prepare. They are in command of the role for the entire performance, never missing a beat.” - Eric Fitzgerald, OnStage Colorado
“Through Sampson’s eloquent prose and the stellar performances of its cast, the play is a testament to the enduring power of storytelling… - Toni Tresca, Boulder Weekly
“The four women in their major roles all deliver hugely relatable and highly detailed characters.” - Eric Fitzgerald, OnStage Colorado
“Phamaly has found a new leading lady in the person of Katelyn Kendrick who has (if you can believe) a voice that is both sweet and sultry at the same time. They were also entirely believable as Percy, a wrongly sentenced ex-con who fell in love with a town named Gilead from a postcard. Percy made her way there upon release – no money, no job, no friends. A creature of contradictions, she had both a confidence and an insecurity which gradually wicked away as she became a citizen of her new community.” - Beki Pineda, Get Boulder
“...and Katelyn Kendrick, as Audrey, are the stars of the show for a reason. Both are amazing singers who push the musical to a place that lesser talents could not make it go. But along with having vocal talent that can carry the show and comedic skills to land every joke, it’s the duo's genuineness that immediately makes them lovable.” - The Aurora Sentinel
“The strongest performance by far was from Katelyn Kendrick, who played Cheryl, Ash’s kid sister and the one who gets attacked by zombies first. Kendrick’s voice is killer — pun intended — and their acting is on point. They also played an adorable kid sister with cute bangs and pigtails, despite being a mother and behavioral therapist in real life.” - Out Front Magazine
“When Veronica (Katie Burdette) first began spilling the goods…que the music…and it all came together. And was it just me or was Veronica more beautiful before the change in “Beautiful”? No matter, they took the notes by the treble clef and commanded control throughout the production….Katie Burdette slayed “Seventeen.” The only thing I didn’t like about it is the fact that I couldn’t stand up and ask them to play it again for us. I was all shivers and teary-eyed. Getting stirred up just by reminiscing.” - Denver Theatre Perspectives
“Katie Burdette stars as Veronica (originally played by Winona Ryder in the film on which the musical is based). Burdette gives a strong performance...their comedic timing and high belts make them a compelling lead.” - Abby Wehrman, CU Sentry
